No better than

"The exciting true adventure", mind you. This has taken my fear of giant pandas to new heights. Even in a scene apparently ripped from a Jack London novel, no stalwart youth is safe from their ferocious bipedal antics.

Results of the day: My eyesight hasn't gotten any worse since this time last year. My left eye is still weaker than my right. I was giving a pair of trial contacts to take home. They're supposed to be easy on dry eyes. I haven't tested them yet, but I have my doubts. I HAVE MY DOUBTS.

I phoned the camera place and they said that my chunky brick-like friend is ready to be picked up, and that they were able to fix him. So it'll cost me just $170 with GST, and I won't have to buy a new camera. I don't, however, have $170 in my chequing account. I'm waiting for a cheque to clear. Impatiently.

Isn't there a Jack London one where he goes in dressed as a Panda to report on their living conditions?

WTF, man? Who makes evil pandas?

Old comics are baffling. I guess they were so cheap that they could (and indeed, because of competition) had to try to lots of weird random shit in a trial and error fashion. Are pandas killer? And are you really afraid of them?

Contacts! Weird! I must recommend the green solo care aqua contact wash stuff as it's really the best I've tried, though pay no attention to the no-rub instructions. Rubbing will always be required.

Wait, are you asking me if I'm really afraid of pandas? Or was that a hypothetical question directed at the universe at large? I'm totally not afraid of pandas. Please. I need my street cred. The only animal I spend any time fearing is the cougar, and that's just because I read a book about their attack patterns on Vancouver Island. Vancouver Island has the highest concentration of violent cougars anywhere. But I still love cougars.

I haven't tried the new contacts yet, but the stuff they gave me to rinse them in is called Clear Care, which is like a weird play on my name. Also, it's mostly hydrogen peroxide, which seems like a terrible idea, considering you put it in your eyes and all.

Claire's clear care. Hydrogen peroxide sounds weird but think of it bubbling away, refreshing the lens. or something.
