Oh man oh man, you would not believe how totally incredibly awake I am, it being 6:30 in the morning, and with my having not slept at all. But I had a chai latte in the late afternoon and a (bad, caffeinated) root beer at the Indian Buffet. So I'm vibrating.
We're out of milk, for some reason. That irritates me. Whenever I buy cereal, like organic Weetabix (um um!?) or Shredded Wheat (colonic um um!?), my rate of milk consumption skyrockets and we run out of milk. We have our milk delivered. I guess that's worth pointing out because most people don't do that. In this modern age. But I could do with some milk delivery RIGHT NOW, is all I'm saying. Not on stupid TUESDAY, or whatever MILK DAY is. Not stupid THEN. NOW.
I went out tonight with Marian and Kimi to see Marian's friend Mike play with his band, Parks & Recreation, at the Marine Club. And I didn't see anybody peeing in the sink, Sachi, but trust me that I thought about seeing it. The show was fun, if very short. It was so fun I bought myself a $5 t-shirt that says Parks & Recreation. It has a picture on it of a little playground slide. If I'm lucky, nobody will guess that it refers to a band! That would be rad! And we got free cds, too. Pretty ones. And I will listen to mine because I liked the music.
Another band came on after P&R, called They Shoot Horses, Don't They? I don't know if there's actually a question mark on the end of the name, but I know I'd heard it somewhere before. In any case, this was an odd group of people. They hit the stage with croquet mallets and brought a hollow, metal appliance case, like the shell of oven, to bang on. It kept slipping across the floor, out of reach of the guy with the mallet. This was all very interesting and loud. At some point I wanted to go and had to write a note for Marian on a paper plate. The paper plate became an integral communication device. I was very proud of it. I don't know why, but the bulk of the audience at that point (and there wasn't much by way of bulk) was made up by what looked like young Japanese tourists/students, giggling and taking pictures. They Shoot Horses, Don't They (?) must be big in Japan. Which would explain not very much.

They Shoot Horses, Don't They? is a movie starring Jane Fonda. They had a funny play on that in season two of Arrested Development... there's a movie star whose pet movie project is called "They Shoot Heroin, Don't Thye?" Funny, funny stuff.
hey claire
Oh man. I was awake at 6:30, too. I slept for maybe 3 hours. Who are the poor puppies? We are the poor puppies. I also had a dream that there was an online quiz: what word verification characters are you? That's a little sad.
(Also yay Kate. <3 and hi.)
Marc - You're a nerd for knowing that. But a comely nerd, with comic timing. I thought it might have been a book or something. Jane Fonda. FEH.
Kate - Hi Kate!I tried to return your email a few weeks ago but it got bounced back. I hope you're doing great. ^_^
Narns - I would be wmhwg. Or so I'm told.
