I've been on the island for the last seven days. I went over with Emily and came back with Marc. Happy too, of course. There were whales, as seen here, and fireworks across the water, and an unusual number of snakes. I had a cold brewing on the way over, so for the Emily portion of the trip I mainly lay around watching her play Secret of Mana. I also force fed myself Buckley's cough syrup and screamed. Buckley's cough syrup is like vodka mixed with phlegm mixed with Vick's vapor rub. I felt better around the third day, when the Marc portion of the trip began.
It was weird not to be able to post, though, as Blogger wouldn't let me sign in and dial-up is torture when all you want is to know what's going on in the real world. Yesterday, trying to check the ferry times, I saw something ominous on the Netscape news page about London, but couldn't get anything but headlines. I was worried about Kimi and Sachi's dad but couldn't check my email, and Authorfunction went poof. Unsettling.
My parent's are having a party here, Saturday night, with around 70 their friends, both cool and lame, and lots of good food and drink. It's very short notice, but if either Marian or Kimi want to come, that would be nice. Sachiko is officially invited too, of course, Montreal be damned. Marc will be here, and Shannon and Scott, and Emily and Joe. I have to go buy some shoes today that I can wear with a dress or skirt. What dress or skirt? I don't rightly know...
I don't even know when the party starts. Around seven, probably? I'll get back to you on that.
There are some pictures taken with Marc's camera of the long (long) weekend, so a few of those will be forthcoming.
I'm going to eat an Oh Henry bar now.

Mm, party. Montreal be damned indeed.
I would love to come, unfortunately I work until 11:00pm. That or I will be at the hospital.
Dress or skirt, but Marc has to take your picture so I can see you in all your fanciness.
hey claire, glad you're feeling better. have fun at the party!
I could come, I guess. If I wouldn't be some kind of lame tag-along that nobody wanted to make conversation with. How fancy a dress or skirt? Because, I'd, like, need shoes for that too.
You should use that as a conversation starter.
Aw, too bad Kimi. I wish you luck with work and/or the hospital.
If you do want to come, Narns, how fancy a dress or skirt is entirely up to you. You might not even want to wear a dress or skirt. Some people will be dressed fancier than others, but all will be equal in God's love.
And thanks Kate!
Oh yeah, and it starts at 7:30.
wait, maybe I can come...if I do, Marian do you want to go together? I hate arriving alone.
Sure Kimi. I'll give your cell a call tomorrow, early afternoonish.
Yay for that.
