That's a lot to learn

I saw Steamboy tonight with Marc. It was beautiful but also quite convoluted, and at times bizarrely awkward. Unfortunately, it was the English dub. Which never helps. I not even going to discuss who they got to voice the protagonist, a little boy from Manchester. Some things are meant to remain beyond our understanding. But Alfred Molina did a voice as well, and he is clearly teh sessy. Oh my, yes.

We bought Oreo ice cream. I want some.

What's with you guys and the Anna Paquin? Really? Could there be anyone more innocuous?

Really.

I don't share the immense dislike for the Paquin that Claire and others have, but this was such a bone-headed casting move: having a twelve-year-old Mancunian performed by a twentyish New Zealander woman without very good voice modulation. So there was a lot of "Ooh, Moo-thah! Aah've goot th' Steeeeeaamball!" and etc. which pretty much ruined whatever chances the movie had to make any sense.

And let the record show that I didn't get any of the oreo.
