We all know why Kimi can't sleep, but why can't I? I've been avoiding caffeine for weeks now. Unless you count decaf Tetley tea bags. Which you shouldn't. Because they have no effect, and I only have one or two a day. Three at the most. All before noon.
More importantly, I haven't been drinking any Coke or Starbucks. None. It's like a monumental life change and so on. Great strides.
I mean I know it's temporary, but still.
I've been sleeping pretty well lately, too. Dreaming a lot. Mainly about summer camp, for some reason, and outhouses. And fields. But tonight, no. Tonight I haven't even been tempted to put my book down and turn the fan on and switch the light off and arrange my pillows the specific, perfect way, and fall asleep and dream about summer camp. I've just been reading. Looking at the clock occasionally. Mainly reading.
I don't even want to tell you what I'm reading. Not that I'm not enjoying it, in a way. I just don't feel like defending it. It's not worth defending. It's a "phenomenal best-seller", anyway.
You understand.
Does Blogger make me sleepy? No. Blogger does not make me sleepy. It makes me self-conscious and vague, but not so much making with the sleep.
My tank top is sticking to me.
Have I mentioned the list-making? On days when I'm not working or otherwise engaged, (my secrecy is charming) I make lists of things I have to do. Like for example, I had to get new tires. Mine were all cruddy. One of them went flat a block from the house and almost made me late. So I put that on the list. And the list works, my friend. The list made me get new tires.
I love my new tires. They're fancy tires. They make for fun. Even as I'm obsessing over my gas meter and telling myself to walk more (and I have been walking more, I swear), my tires make me feel as if, having worn military boots all my life, I just got a new pair of sneakers. VROOM WOOSH, yes?
Yes.
Okay. Enough. Back to reading and looking at the clock occasionally and telling myself to sleep.
That always works.
