Exclamation point

For those that don't already know, my computer is gone. It's been away for a few days now and I don't know when it'll come back. But when it does, it will have a new part that makes it faster and bigger. As in, more space. I need more space to manage all of my Important Projects.

Now it's 2:00am and I'm hunched over my mother's Mac laptop, unable to come to grips with the little weeny keyboard and its teeny silent keys. I've got some Mandarin oranges that I'm going to take upstairs in a minute, to eat while I read. One of my cats, Misty, is purring very loudly beside the monitor. She thinks I should do this more often.

So I've been shopping, working, walking the dog and going to Pilates. None of which has been bad, and I haven't missed the internet at all. During the day, I mean. Nights are different. They make me all claustrophobic and bloggy.

I just deleted what would have been this paragraph. Twice.

Everyone keeps talking about how great it is to not have the Internet. I can live without TV but no Internet? Like saying "oh, life without arms ain't so bad."

I didn't mean to badmouth the internet. I love the internet. But sometimes it's good to have an enforced break, especially if you know that in a matter of days you'll be back online.

And like I said, it made me crazy at night. The internet and sleeplessness belong together.
