Does my head in

I got up early this morning and went down to 4th Avenue, where I bought the latest Krazy Kat collection at The Comic Shop and sat in Duthie's playing Nintendogs until it was time to drive to class.

Thanks to Kimi, who was gracious and articulate when I phoned her at the very last minute to 'interview' her about her job/life, I had my piece ready to hand out to the class. I wasn't late either (or absent, for that matter), which was a nice change.

And, tonight I watched the first season of Extras with Marc. I've been looking forward to it since, well, since seeing the last episode of The Office. Because it's a British DVD and my computer is the only way I can watch those, we had to pull the little couch out into the middle of my non-bedroom to see the monitor. I like watching things on a couch for a change, instead of a chair. It's more cozy-making and you can fit a dog in with you. Sort of. Extras was great, of course. I can't wait until the next season. Being a DVD television enthusiast (nerdy geek nerd) takes too much patience.

Incidentally, the British ads about the consequences of video piracy are really strange. They've got this Satanic kind of blacksmith man with red contact lenses who brands things with big X marks, for some reason, and there's a lot of flame effects and sparks. Also, a scary voice says PIRACY HELPS TERRORISM, and warns that piracy will bring about the complete collapse of, um, everything.

The American piracy ads - You steal a candy bar, you download a movie: it's the SAME THING - need to be more like that. I want to see people morphing into bleating goats and random words flashing across the screen. REMEMBER BELGIUM. EMANUEL GOLDSTEIN. TAPE KILLS RADIO. WATCH TV WATCH YOU. That sort of thing.

Extras. Squeal. I so want to see this now that everyone I know who is cooler than me with much better taste that has seen it loves it.

And, piracy helps terrorism? Because they are both Evil?

This was a very satisfying post, mostly because I woke up to it, it being 5:45, and usually when I get up in the middle of the night (or, I guess, in the 'morning' as some people call it) and run to the computer to check for updates there aren't any. So yes. Warm in the tummy, this post was.
