Lidocaine: The bomb diggity

I have to bring myself to post something(s).

It's 5:28 AM and I've been awake for hours. Last night Marian, Sachi, Kimi and I got back from Saturna (hours late, thank you BC Ferries) and I had the best, longest, most satisfying shower of my entire life.

My shoulders are sunburned. I keep spraying them with this AfterBurn stuff from the bathroom cabinet that, judging from the graphics on the bottle, expired in 1978. But I think it's working.

I found a flea comb and went through my dog's hair like a particularly social Bonobo ape, looking for fleas, ticks, and those little pods of 'spear grass' that I'll probably still be finding on her for another week.

Whales are swell.

And what will I do without the Murakami sisters to make delicious meals at regular intervals? How will I live? Even now I'm thinking about going downstairs and rifling through the enormous, stale-smelling fridge, and that is incredibly sad for me.

On the other hand: popsicles from IGA!

There will be pictures, soon, of island fun. I swear it.

Wah, I miss it already. I have postponed the shower until this morning, though, and boy let me tell you I am so excited.

Yes, I only did a quick shower last night, just to sluice off some of the long-day-in-the-car-with-wet-dogs stench. This morning was the main act.

Piiiiiiiiiiiictures! We wants them!
