Tutti a bordo, frattello mio

You might think I'd be so refreshed from my three day break that I'd have woken up at nine this morning (or ten, don't kid yourself), to have a guilt-free caffeinated beverage, unpack my fat little duffel bag, and walk the dog. But, no. Well I had better be refreshed now, goddamn it.

Hum. However. Deeply satisfying round of the ol' blogs today. Only the elephant sanctuary in Tennessee continues to fail me with its lack of updates about Lota and Misty. (See Kimi, people name elephants that. I'm cool!) Because I've only half-finished my guilt ridden cup of tea, and therefore struggling to make my brain manage complete sentences, here's a for-my-own-fun list of island highlights: The re-introduction of Gomez Addams, bits of snow, dogs chasing deer, blaming things on "that lying, sunofabitch Johnson!", dogs blocking our view of the television, "pudknocker", beef jerky in spades, dogs vomiting in the car, my long underwear, the wind at the lighthouse, dogs all over the bed at night, Colts, Johnny Witworth, soup, dogs, dogs.

As you can imagine, the cabin was left in pristine condition.

Pudknocker = sex, right? Anything else would be a letdown.

Not THE Johnny Witworth from YM's man of the year?

Since that issue of YM was from 1991 (vol 39 iss 8 pp 38-43), probably not. Perhaps him in his Empire Records phase?

"Pudknocker" is a reference to The Right Stuff. Which we watched on VHS. It means "you don't have THE RIGHT STUFF, ya pudknocker!". And no, it's not a movie about sex, narns. It's about sexy astronauts. Now I've explained one of the highlights. And yes, I meant Johnny Witworth as A.J. from Empire Records, which we also watched. He is the world's greatest method actor. "Corey... it's just... no... no... like, you gotta see how... Corey."

Witworth is so 'The Method,' that we literally heard Stanislavsky turn over in his grave. Not in disgust mind you, but to position himself so that he would be facing the western hemisphere, in order to give an enthusiastic 'thumbs up' on a job well done. Literally.
